Behavioral Health Facilities Deserve Clinical Support They Don’t Have to Chase

Running a behavioral health facility comes with a level of responsibility most people never see. Behind every admission, every treatment plan, and every client served, there are clinical deadlines, documentation requirements, staffing needs, and compliance responsibilities that have to be handled correctly and on time.

We understand that pressure because we have faced it too.

Great Lakes was built around a simple idea: behavioral health facility owners and administrators should not have to spend their days wondering whether an assessment was completed, a treatment plan was updated, a signature was missed, or their BHP will answer the phone when something urgent comes up. Those details matter. In Arizona, a BHRF intake assessment must be completed within 48 hours of admission and completed or co-signed by a BHP. When a BHT completes a treatment plan, a BHP must provide oversight and sign it within 24 hours. And Arizona may assess penalties of up to $1,000 per violation for each affected resident or patient, with each day a violation continues potentially counting as another violation.

True Expereince

Our role is to help bring more consistency to the areas that matter most. That can mean reliable clinical supervision, timely assessments and treatment plans, stronger documentation, referral support, chart reviews, backup BHP coverage, or direct support when something urgent cannot wait. The need for that support goes beyond compliance. About 68% of behavioral health workers say administrative responsibilities reduce the time they have available to support clients, while 43% report that they cannot manage administrative demands without working additional hours. When too much clinical and administrative responsibility falls back on the same few people, owners and administrators can quickly find themselves spending more time putting out fires than leading their organization.

Dependable Clinical Support

Our organization brings more than 10 years of behavioral health experience, leadership that includes Arizona’s former SUD Treatment Administrator, and BHPs and counselors with decades of hands-on clinical experience. We understand the Arizona behavioral health environment, but just as important, we understand what it feels like to be responsible for a facility when too much depends on people following through. We do not believe in walking into a facility and assuming we know everything about how it should run. Every organization has its own staff, residents, systems, strengths, and challenges. We start by learning how your facility operates, where your clinical support is working, and where gaps may be creating extra pressure.

Changing Times

We believe behavioral health professionals deserve to be treated with fairness and respect for the expertise, responsibility, and care they bring to their clients, regardless of the letters after their name. We also believe facility owners deserve partners who communicate, follow through, and understand the real-world pressures behind keeping a behavioral health operation moving. We have seen what becomes possible when that support is in place. Facilities can become more stable. Owners can feel more confident about their clinical operations. Admissions can move with fewer unnecessary delays. And leadership can spend more time focused on better care, stronger operations, and sustainable growth instead of constantly chasing the next unfinished task. We know whats at stake.
